Delete your Iris account.
This page explains how to delete your account in Iris: Learn Japanese, the Iris app for iPhone, iPad and Android, and in Iris for Chrome, which share one account. You never need an account to use the app, so if you never signed in there is nothing to delete.
In the app
Open Iris, go to Settings, then Account, and choose Delete account. Your account and every video you shared with the community are deleted right away.
Without the app
Email iris.extension@gmail.com from the address you signed in with and ask us to delete your Iris account. We delete it within 7 days and reply when it is done.
What is deleted
Your sign-in identity (name, email address and account ID), every community video you shared with its subtitles, translation, title and note, and the cloud data of Iris for Chrome, such as synced words and review history. Reports you sent stay with the video they concern, without any link to you.
What stays
Words, reviews, videos, manga and texts you keep in the app live only on your device and are never uploaded, so they stay until you delete them or remove the app. If you paid for Iris Pro in Chrome, Paddle keeps billing records for as long as tax law requires; cancel the subscription before deleting the account.
