IRIS FOR TEACHERS

Japanese in your browser,
for study and work.

Try Iris free with your group for one week, then tell us what worked and what got in the way. A teacher can introduce Iris to a whole class in a single lesson.

A FIRST LESSON · ABOUT 20 MINUTES

  1. Choose five sentences. Pick a short Japanese text your group already cares about: a news line, a menu, a manga page, a work email.
  2. Read it together. Students install Iris and point at words they do not know. Meanings appear beside the Japanese, which stays in view.
  3. Look up two words. Ask each student to look up two words, then say the sentence back in their own words.
  4. Save one sentence. Each student saves one word with its sentence. No account is needed to start.
  5. Revisit tomorrow. A short daily review brings the saved words back. Ask the group which ones stuck.

WHAT IS FREE

Free teaching includes 1 active class of up to 30 students and 5 shared word lists. Students read, save words and review for free. Teacher Mode adds a join code, shared lists, and progress that students choose to share.

Students decide, per class, whether to share daily totals. You never see their own words, review answers or what they read. Read the privacy promise.

RUN A ONE-WEEK PILOT

Use Iris with your group for a week, then send us three things: what students understood faster, where Iris got in the way, and what you would change.
